Observation details
This bird was first found on October 20 by Randy Husson who saw it again today in the late morning. As it was an Empidonax and very late numerous birders rushed to the scene. We looked for almost an hour and a half before Cheryl Edgecombe re-found it. We looked at it on and off for about 10 minutes. It stayed low in thickets, occasionally flicking its tail but did not vocalize. Interestingly, it responded to Hammond's call once and not to Least. However photographs show it to have an all pale lower mandible and a medium primary projection both features of Least Flycatcher. My previous late Least Flycatcher was October 13, 1974 at Point Pelee.
