Blue morph SNOW x CACG young birds
Observation details
Blue morph hybrids! A whole array of phenotypic differences, with CACG features dominating (cheek patch and size). All 4 featuring a cheek patch that's bit gray, and overall more grayish plumage that lacks the browner tones of CACG. Bills all dark, but not shaped like CACG, and all showed a mostly white breast. All 4 similar in size to nearby CACG. 4th bird seems to have some speckling on the neck reminiscent of a blue goose. Seemed to be hanging out with a blue Snow Goose, who could be one of the parents. ID suggested by Steven Mlodinow, and confirmed by Jöern Lehmhus. (Originally reported as GWFGxCACG)
