Observation details
Continuing. Found a couple of hours ago by Tina C and Breck H. Seen with many other birders. The bird was hidden in the rocks much of the time but occasionally would raise its head enough to be visible. Usually the view was just a sliver of white but several times we were able to see approximately half of the head, including one eye. A few times the bird was dive-bombed by crows. Unfortunately, Nick and I had limited time and had to leave, shortly before the bird popped out and gave great views. Rather poor digiscope photo, showing roughly half of the head. Habitat photo shows the same area of the jetty at a moment when the owl's head was not visible.
