Observation details
First detected by call. More nasal call than Pacific Wren, which was also calling nearby. Pacific had sharper, more metallic call. I had extended, point blank views of the bird as well, as it foraged in thick patch of snowberry close to Mission Creek. Bird lacked any of the rufous tones associated with Pacific Wren, other than some on the wing. Supercilium whiter than on Pacific Wren. Bill was noticeably long. Breast and throat, pale grayish. Undertail was spotted black and white. Flanks barred with white and brown. Overall, frosty looking bird, compared to warmer tones of Pacific Wren.
