Observation details
Continuing bird. Less than fantastic photo due to distance and poor light. Appears to be Branta hutchinsii hutchinsii subspecies with lighter breast and cheek patch indented at the height of the eye. Quite a few of the Canadas in the flock (presumably B.c. canadensis) were on the smallish side and the Cackling Goose did not seem to jump out on size as much as they often do in flocks of Branta canadensis in the northeast. Roundish head, steepish forehead, and stubby bill helped to set it off from the smaller B.c. canadensis it was often near.
