Observation details
Seen in trees along the creek just north of the chain gate (GPS: 35.56774° N, 121.10350°) W. It had black and white streaking above and on its flanks, white face with a dark eye line, white throat and belly, and white undertail coverts with 4 black dots. It was foraging with a loose flock of Ruby-crowned Kinglets, Townsend's Warblers, Chestnut-backed Chickadees and Bushtits. It foraged along the tree trunks and branches moving similar to a nuthatch. The flock eventually moved to the south in the tops of the trees along the trail.
