Observation details
Continuing on South end of park, scope view with best vantage point where grass ends and sand begins. Large Duck, slightly larger than the White-winged scoters it was associating with. Black body with white wing stripe, long orange bill, powder blue crown and nape, still transitioning to breeding plumage. Absolutely beautiful bird, my first Male King Eider! Great scope view with others. Best vantage point with scope is was on the far Southern end of the park on the sand, just as the grass ended. Photos to follow.
