Observation details

Entering as a putative Winter Wren, as recordings from today and by others show more SOSP like “chimp” notes that are more diagnostic of this species. The bird was fairly active and vocal off and on throughout the morning, mostly sticking to deep within the blackberries just above and below the 128 bridge around (38.5128436, -122.0954784). Mostly skulky, but did pop out once for a few seconds just below the bridge before retreating to cover again. Despite some effort, it never quite made the flight across the creek to the Yolo side. Audio tba.
