Observation details

Continuing first county record found by Aidan Rodriguez earlier in the day (thanks Aidan!). James Neves and I scoped it at the grey barn on Double Bridges, but then it flew across the highway to bathe in a ditch in the nursery, before perching up on a powerline above my parked car to preen. I left it wandering in the dirt field where it was also enjoyed by Jim Hanna and Luke Scott. Thick-billed and glossy, the bird glowed in the afternoon sun.
