Observation details
Incredible find by Frank Sencher on the 13th. This little warbler was quite challenging and I finally re-found after 2hrs45 of searching while spotting movement on one of the outer berry bushes 12:44 about here: (40.662565, -74.924149). It was in the open for about 20 seconds on the bush but mostly obstructed. Beautiful green/yellow warbler with blue head and notable white crescents above and below the eye. Observed with Mike and Grant and got a few photos before it flew back into cover toward the boat launch. Picked it up again on the ground/sand about 10 mins later and got a few more pics as it moved up to a low branch before hiding back in the grass. Other birders re-found when the bird started giving a fairly loud chip call around 14:30 and it made sporadic very brief appearances. Moving with mixed flock of white-throated sparrows, dark-eyed juncos, ruby-crowned kinglets and downy woodpeckers. Photos and audio recording to be added. Lifer and last NJ warbler!!
