Observation details
Continuing individual foraging along the western fringes of Runway 19, viewed from the intersection. Diminutive, compact egret picking its way through the brush, periodically snapping up morsels. Not visible when I passed by on my way back out, presumably flushed by an errant fellow in a sail wagon. I most recently observed cattle-egrets strutting around with herds of elephants during my honeymoon in Kenya last year, a memory that only serves to enhance my already strong admiration for the species. Always a treat to see this ecologically fascinating bird here in the home state
