Observation details

Smaller than nearby Killdeer but larger than a small peep (although none available for direct comparison). Long wings extended past tail. Black legs. Longer bill with slight droop and no discernible pink at the base. Scaly back. No streaking down flanks. I did not see it flying or preening so didn't see the rump. Feeding all the way out at mouth of Morgan Creek. Cannot recommend chasing this bird. My FoL.
