Media notes
Large juvenile gull - the tail band, white rump, and contrasting buffy fringes to the upperparts (especially contrasting on the scapulars) suggests 1st-cycle Vega Gull. The head is quite white, which is odd. Unfortunately I took no notes on this bird, I simply photographed it because at the time it looked strange to me. (Scanned slide.)
