Observation details

Exciting encounter while enjoying a roving mixed flock. She had a red cap bordered by black with narrow black striping on head and thin black line through eye. Full white throat seen well with no discernible red feathering. Messy gray-brown flanks and yellow wash to belly. White upperwing coverts seen well in flight, and some black and white barring on the back as well while she worked up the maple. Silent. Flew in for about 30 seconds before flying across the street and landing very briefly, and then moved on. Managed a poor digiscoped doc photo before it flew off to the north. Was in a decent sized, diverse flock that were feeding in spruce and maple trees.
