Observation details
A Sunda Pygmy Woodpecker (Yungipicus moluccensis) clings to a tree trunk in Tampelas Village, Central Kalimantan, pecking the bark in search of tiny insects. This small woodpecker, with its barred brown wings and spotted underparts, is among the smallest in Borneo. Its presence near human settlements reflects the adaptability of forest-edge species in the Sebangau ecosystem.
