Media notes
Slim-bodied merganser with thin bill, 'messy' crest, greyish body. Feeding close to flcok of COGO.
Observation details
A single merganser in close association with a small flock of Common Goldeneye. Appeared different from Common Merganser having a less well-defined crest, and relatively thin bill -see id photos. Although uncommon, this species is seen regularly in this area, particularly during fall migration.
