Observation details

*Rare. Initially spotted by EJS in a flock of tree swallows flying low over the marsh towards the southeast. The bird’s coloration (light orange rump and throat and blue back) immediately ruled out everything but cliff and cave. Cave is supported by time of year and the relatively light color and low contrast of the throat visible in TSS’s photos. Photographed by TSS and AAH.
