Observation details
Two snowy owls seen perched along the same road. Both look to have whitish heads with barring on the body so maybe young males. One is more heavily marked than the other. I need to take another look at the second owl high up a hydro tower to see how much of a cap it has on its head. A mid-November arrival in our area in the past typically points to a good winter for seeing this species. The last 2 winters were not typical for Ottawa. I had driven by several days earlier but didn't see any owls. When I saw the number of reports south of Lake Surperior, I decided to give it another go. Definitely should go check out the usual spots in the east end as well. Taken with the Nikon P900 from the road.
