This immature has an unusually rusty coat: in addition to the bronze in its collar band, it appears to have bronze feathers on its brow and patchworked over its wings -- in this and the other flight photo, some brown flight feathers can be seen.
Observation details
Adult female and unusual immature (rusty/bronze spots throughout head and wing plumage) flying and calling together; immature male not far away, perched and dried his feathers after unsuccessful dive.
