Observation details

Continuing pair on the Washington side of the river -- male all black except for the bright orange knob on the bill (smaller than the nearby SUSC) -- female was more difficult to see at this distance but was browner than the male with pale cheeks -- the pair stayed together during most of the period observed and were diving synchronously -- marginal, distant photos
