Observation details

Unexpected treat. Hanging around the end of Broadway Street, initially sighted here (40.7834843, -124.2018811) then moved slightly to the South. I was scanning a sparrow flock in the yard at the pin when I heard a whiny, wheezy call that immediately got my attention. I turned to look, and a warbler flew across the street that had a lot of yellow on it and a white band across the tail. My immediate thought was Maggie, and sure enough it popped up in a small willow at eye level, promptly knocking my socks off. Yellow below with dark streaks, mostly gray above with dull olive mantle and pale wing bars on dark wings. White eye ring and utcs.
