Observation details
Many seen close with White-tailed Ptarmigans. Then a flock of about 50 landed on the mound by the lake parking lot calling and feeding. Most had a lot more white than the WTPT. Some almost totally white. Dark feathers showing had a brownish red coloration compared to WTPT. There were some interesting patterns in the dark feathers showing. Lots had black lores. Bills were really small. Life bird #701.
