Observation details
Disappointingly quick views. As we were looking at the Tropical it flew by quickly. I immediately recognized it in flight as a Scissor-tailed both because of its unmistakable slender shape with long, un spread, white and blackish streamer looking tail and due to years of experience with this bird on the NM eastern plains among other places . As it was flying away from me I managed to get one or two horrible shots of the partially spread tail that are shockingly identifiable. LAco 400 for me and the perfect one as my favorite bird occurring in the US (tied with Vermilion)!
