Media notes
Recording at the spot where birds 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16 were seen/heard simultaneously with a mixed flock of kinglets and CACHs.
Observation details
At least this many distinct individuals, probably more. One location at far N end of route had 4 birds at once, and 6 confirmed at once at summit (with a 7th seen a couple hundred to the West). Recordings made of the two largest groups. Saw a mix of males and females with black line through eye, white above, and varying degrees of ruddy coloration below. Often high concentrations here in invasion years, which this is. Map of locations shown in checklist media to demonstrate how double-counting was eliminated despite switchbacks. We though we may have heard more in the dense Virginia Pines directly out from the overlook and on the way back down the south side of the loop, but it was much windier on that side and we started hearing calls that were possibly/probably the first bird we heard at the bottom.
