Observation details
I saw this loon heading W off pipit point. From a distance I almost dismissed it as a red breasted merganser due to its apparent small size, but as it got closer I realized it was some sort of loon. As it got closer it did not strike me as a common loon due to small size, small feet, small bill, and just overall vibes. I snapped some pictures and figured it was a RTLO, but after reviewing pictures it looked a bit chunky for a RTLO. Anyway, I left it at Loon sp. but after posting in the discord for other opinions It seems good for Pacific. Thanks to Jon for the ID and explanation.
