Observation details

1st winter plumage photographed. Smaller size very noticeable with more dainty structure and less bulky neck and smaller neater head shape. Generall overall greyness with upper parts feathers black centred with pale edges lacking any yellowish tones. Grown dark grey brown uniformly streaked whitish. Marked buffy supercilium starting just before the eye and broadening behind the eye. Ear coverts dark brownish tones. Forehead immediately above bill pale as were lores darkening towards eye. Throat pale buffy grey and plain. Underside scruffy grey buff. Legs and bill dark. Underwing when raised mucky grey throughout. Rump plain and grey at distance. Not heard to call a s seen at 200m with 240 golden plover and 1 grey plover
