Observation details

**Nov 6 2025 update to correct this species from Ash-throated to Brown Crested Flycatcher. This is not an a new sighting as the bird was only seen on Nov 5. Large flycatcher in brushy area near Gulfport, MS Yacht Club boat launch. Initially reported as Ash-throated, but additional photographs during a second viewing later in the afternoon and reviews by several birders and North American Flycatcher author Cin-Ty Lee led to the change to BCFL. Significantly more details and photos are available on the second checklist of the day, S283059175. Viewed for several minutes before being chased off by a Mockingbird. Made loud bill claps when harassed by Mockingbirds. No calls given. Seen here before being chased off (30.3615459, -89.0906329) and relocated later in the day at the same coordinates.
