Observation details
I first came across 11 Eastern Bluebirds as I walked west on McAffrey Drive toward the Curtis Prairie parking lot. They were all calling their 2 note song. Next I took the path from across the Curtis Prairie parking lot to join the path running east and west and I walked east. I came across 10 more Eastern Bluebirds as I walked east. Many were singing. I walked to the path running north and south and at that intersection there were more Eastern Bluebirds, about 9, singing in that area so I added more Eastern Bluebirds to my list. I walked south to the stand of Oak Trees and there I found about 20 more Eastern Bluebirds. I walked farther south and then turned around and walked north. When I was north of the Oak Trees I found a few more Eastern Bluebirds before I reached the Pump House. My total was 51. Another birder I know well said she had seen between 80 and 100 Eastern Bluebirds in the area I just described on Sunday, Nov. 2.
