Observation details

Finally - my first pure yellow-shafted Northern Flicker in King County (overdue?). Striking yellow coloration in flight got my attention as it landed on the railing of the horse track not far from me, here: (47.4176344, -122.2733993). Black malar stripe, tan/brown face, thick red chevron on nape, and yellow in its flight feathers. Photos.
