Observation details

Barbara Lestenkof found and photographed a Great Egret at Big Polovina Lake on 16 October 2025. The best photos can be found on the checklist dated 18 October 2025. This is the 5th record for the Pribilofs (all on St. Paul Island). There was a large incursion of Great Egrets to Alaska this fall, with at least 9 (!!) documented at Adak Island and others at Gustavus, Juneau, Cold Bay.
