Observation details
Not a bad bird for November 1st! Initially seen in the pines in front of the Engineering Building, then on the west side of Prexy’s Pasture, then lost it for about 20 minutes before finally re-finding it in the landscaped shrubs in the recessed planter between Engineering and Ag, where it offered extended, point-blank views for multiple observers. Calling occasionally, which first alerted me; call smacking and metallic, reminiscent of a junco. Female plumage - such a unique, understated but striking warbler!
