Cute pose :) Darker feathers stand out from mallards around him. Yellow bill clearly distinguishes him from female mallards. Goose butt in background.
Observation details
Very clearly distinguished male American Black Duck in a group of mallards. Yellow bill, black back feathers compared to the female mallard's brown. Slight blue visible on wing. My first time noticing one among Mallards!
