Observation details
High up being chased by a flock of starlings (?). Notably smaller than other Hawks I've seen. ID'd via photo Updated observation notes: "The bird in this photo appears to be a juvenile Cooper’s Hawk, possibly a male if it appeared smaller than normal. The bird shows a pretty large head, long body and a thicker tail base than Sharp-shinned Hawk. A few more subtle signs are the thin breast streaks and slightly longer wings held out more straight in mid-soar rather than sharpies which are often pushed forward, although this isn’t necessarily captured in every photo."
