Observation details
Catharus thrush was seen initially on the edge of River Road, Lyme as I exited Wilder WMA, appearing quite dark in color on the head and back with dark black spotting below a white throat to well down on breast. It hopped up into a roadside bush/vine with reddish leaves and berries (Euonymus?) where it remained partially hidden. The fotos show a prominent complete buffy-ish eye ring and overall dark olive-brown coloration on head and back without any rusty tinge, typical for SWTH. When it flew away, the tail appeared quite dark without any rusty coloration. However, the complete lack of buffy in the lores and on the cheeks would argue against SWTH.
