Observation details
Walking the bike trails I first heard one then saw it perched on an open limb. When I stopped to photograph it with my phone (I don't have my big camera with me), I was suddenly surrounded by five more. One attempted to land on my hat, several times and another landed on the edge of my phone as I took its photo! As I walked away and got maybe 20 feet, I heard a seventh, then an eighth in different enough directions to determine they were new birds.
