Observation details
Continuing, watched at a distance of as close as 10m out in the open on bare ground under trees, actively foraging. This pipit had a greenish wash to the back with thin dark streaks that didn’t contrast very much with the olive ground color. The face, throat, and flanks had a buffy wash. The eyebrow was much buffier in front of the eye and lighter at the rear. The bird had a black spot at the rear of the auriculars with a tiny white spot above and it. It had dark and prominent malar streaking as well as on the breaks breast. The throat was unsreaked. The belly and vent were whitish. The wings were brown/olive with very thin white wingbars. The bare parts included a dark black eye, a dark bill with perhaps a hint of pale near the base, and pink legs. I saw it fan its tail once and could see some white in the outer tail feathers. This bird was actively foraging in the bare dirt under a group of trees in the park. I'm not sure what it was eating, but on a few occasions I think I saw it pick up small fruits (perhaps privet?) that had fallen from one of the trees.
