Observation details

two audio encounters with no visual so both were unfulfilling but did get crappy recordings that show lower final note in some phrases that Pieplow says is distinctive among longspur rattles: 1) first heard rattle calls while in parking lot and determined they were coming from property across Raymond Rd. to the south, recorded several more calls while standing on road shoulder next to hill that blocked view and by the time we walked far enough east to be able to scan, no more calls were heard and loitering produced no results 2) second rattle call flyover heard and recorded by fork in trail north of parking lot, sounded like the caller was heading from the general direction of west of the pond towards the general direction of where calls were initially heard to the southeast
