Observation details
Continuing bird. Golden plover was feeding in the same field that it seems to prefer, with about a dozen BBPL; contrast in color was evident with the BBPL being paler and a much cooler tone compared to the EUGP, which is a warm dark golden. It caught and ate several large worms. When an eagle put them all up, the black bellies left, but the golden circled back and landed in the field once again. The completely pale axillaries were visible in flight, barely visible in my very poor photo. The bird calls in flight and every so often when on the ground, a simple single-note whistle that matches recordings for EUGP.
