Observation details
On tree at edge of patio. Like the Red-naped Sapsucker, has 2 distinctive black and white rows going down the back, red crown, red throat, white moustache stripe, and black spot on back of head with some red around it. However, the facial markings are smudged, including the white moustache stripe. The red crown and nape patch are smudged. The breast has a faint pink wash below the red throat. Pictures.
