Observation details
Lifer! Rarity found by Rachel Wilson and relayed by Willie D’Anna, thank you! I arrived and did not find the egret in the reported location, a sheep pasture, I drove down to the end of the dead end road called Kingfisher Ct to find it foraging In the yards of the 4 houses at the end. It didn’t seem to mind coming close to the owners doing loud yard work but it didn’t seem sure where it wanted to be. After about 10 minutes it flew towards the lake and the homeowners were kind enough to show me their path down to the shore and there I relocated it resting, it stayed there for about a hour until it flew back to the yards and then immediately back to the sheep pasture. It couldn’t seem to find a spot it felt comfortable in, But seemed not wanting to leave the area. I was lucky to refind the bird and it was a wonderful lifer to watch and enjoy. Based on its behavior it seems like it may stay around for a bit.
