Observation details
Continuing first state record, first seen in alder stand at the beginning of trail and later refound farther down the path. Preferring alders, about often in upper third of the tree, foraying into willows at the end of my observation. Large vireo with greenish-gray back/wings, lemon-yellow vent, buffy yellow flanks, long bill with faint gray eyeline and gray cap. Maybe the most successful insectivore I’ve watched, just constantly seeking and destroying caterpillars. Pictures to be uploaded when I get home.
