Observation details
My apologies for posting this late. Late Friday morning driving from Malhuer NWR to Burns, I saw a medium-sized round-headed owl perched on fence post near the roadside. Turned around the car and relocated the owl to photograph it. Unfortunately, it took off before I started taking pictures, so no pictures of it perched. The owl took off, landed momentarily on the ground then took off again and flew to the south, low over the scrubby fields. Pale brown and evenly-barred upper sides, long legs visible in flight. Will upload initial photos ASAP, better photos later.
