Observation details
Driving home we noticed an immense bird at the top of a dead tree at the corner of Yost Road and Route 24 overlooking our one acre pond. We stopped to look to confirm it was an eagle. When we got out of the car, I heard a loud but low barking sound then saw the eagle circling the pond about a dozen times before it landed on the east edge. We got our binoculars and camera to walk to our blind on the west side of the pond. We watched it walk around for about five minutes, only going a few feet before it turned back. It stood for a few minutes then flew off to the east.
