Observation details

Small pale sparrow with long narrow tail. Crown with dark streaks and a pale median crown stripe. Supercilium contrastingly pale. Auriculars buffy, outlined above and below with dark brown. White eye ring. Lores pale. White malar bordered above and below with dark brown. Upper mandible blackish, lower pink. Throat white. Upper breast buffy, with a few buff streaks on each side. Belly white. Gray hind collar. Back buffy, with short dark streaks. As may be obvious from the description, we had a ridiculously long time to watch this bird from very close range ("He was confiding!" says Cindy. "He liked us.").
