Observation details
This juvenile bird was found on the north side of the river in a restricted access disked field. It was associating with two Killdeer near the edge of the field along the old Salinas River channel. Attenuated structure, small head, petite bill, strong white supercillium, dark cap, tertials falling considerably short of the tail tip, primaries extending well beyond tertials (I count four), and in flight light auxiliaries and high tu-wee type flight call. At close range some faint gold spangling is visible on the rump and upper back. When the bird flushed it flew in the direction of the SRNW
