Observation details
Possible Cinnamon Teal. Too far out see all the diagnostic field marks. Eclipse plumage, but rust-maroon coloring, and dark scalloping on wings. The drake was especially bold rust-maroon. His coloration was consistent over the whole body unlike typical rust stains. Perfect match of a drake and hen pair in correlating plumage also makes rust stains unlikely. Note the longer spatulate bill on the drake in the annotated pic. Not noticeable in the other pics because of distance and heat shimmer. The ducks were not showing speculum in resting position. Hybrids a possibility.
