Observation details

Continuing bird reported from this location since Saturday 04 Oct 25. Initially heard in the vicinity of rusty fuel depot towers while on the phone to another eBirder at 08:35. Then photographed atop said tower, 08:42 - 08:45. Short sound recording also obtained, which matches Xeno Canto recordings from China, rather than Merlin recording of European Pica pica; sounding quite different to North American P. hudsonia. Close examination of photos shows a definite bluish-violet sheen from some angles on the wing - this is also said to support P. serica rather than P. pica or P. hudsonia.
