Observation details

Unmistakeable, although only one bird was showing the rich buff-orange feathers on the head and neck, and even then not yet fully developed. The other birds were either all white, some with dark bills, or the buff-orange head/neck feathers just appearing. These are the same 11 birds as previously reported from this area in the past month. The accompanying photos show 4 and 9 of the 11 birds respectively. The other two, including the one in near-full breeding plumage, were behind the slight rise along which the cattle were grazing.
