Observation details

This bird was identified by the Merlin app as a COYE. Vocalizations are at ~ 1.5, 10, 13.5, and 15 sec. We had difficulty processing the audio, hence the late addition to the checklist. Bird was vocalizing from a tree on the west side of the N-S service road that runs along Ball Field 4. The only visual we had was when the bird flew out of a tree into a cottonwood adjacent to Dara Jones Field (immediately north of the dog park), and we saw it had yellow underparts. It continued to vocalize but we could not get another visual, then it flew out of that tree towards the river. However, analysis by the reviewer found this was instead the flight call of a Dickcissel (compare with Dickcissel Flight Call on Sibley app).
