Observation details
Uncertain about ID. Photographed while preening about 10m up in lower canopy. Photos clearly show dark gray or black crown, white eyering, a broad white superciliary line, and a black crescent on ear coverts; Yellow belly, but brightness of yellow difficult to judge since the photos required a lot of lightening (Lightroom shadows --> 80-100) for colors and detail to be visible. At first, based on Ridgely et al., I though this was Southern Bristle-Tyrant, but looks very different than Birds of the World account. Matches BotW description of Sao Paolo Bristle-Tyrant.
